Alright kids.

I will always be first to admit when I’m late to a party.

Usually it’s a tea party, but sometimes it’s a word party: meaning, it takes me a few years and a summer— and some very helpful friends dropping links to YouTubers with very talented video essays on exactly what degree of high fashion couture is present in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure— to realize what the kids are talking about when they’re throwing around expressions like “drip” and “fit.”

“Fit,” for those not in the loop— as I so recently was! — is short for “outfit,” and a useful word for sounding up-to-date on the latest fashion trends.

Because boy, am I now obsessed with ‘fits!

And when I’m into something, obviously the next step means that it has to be taken into the tea world.

Luckily, we have Adagio to back us up with some amazing potential spreads. I’ll never be unimpressed with their selection of teaware and accessories to steep with, so I’ve put together five tea “fits” that you can play with to your hearts’ content as we fall into autumn’s toasty-drink-making season.

1. The Traditional Tea ‘Fit

Ever wanted to feel like you’re drinking with the ancients? Look no further than the array of classically-inspired tea tools in Adagio’s teaware section.

Starting with a simple, subtle Glass Teapot that will allow you to fully appreciate the beauty of the liquor as it’s brewing. Or, you can work your way into more austere materials like Yixing, Cast Iron, and Glazed Iron teapots that add majesty and mystery to your table, turning a “tea break” into a dignified ritual.

As you become more comfortable and familiar with the practices around traditional-style tea, you might even want to treat yourself to a selection of Matcha Bowls— because trust me, once you get into matcha, you’re not going to want to keep it all to yourself. Don’t say I didn’t warn you in the best way. (Psst, highly recommend the Matcha Black and Matcha Oolong sticks!)

2. The Modern Tea ‘Fit

Now, maybe you’ve gotten cozy already with the traditional style of doing tea, and you’re looking for something a little more fresh. I got you, dude!

Take a look at Adagio's sleekly-designed TEA collection. You can start by grinding the leaves with The GriTEA Tea Grinder while warming your water to the optimal temperature in the UtiliTEA Kettle or the updated and super-elegant VarieTEA kettle.

From there, simply drop your leaves into The SimpliciTEA Teapot or The IngenuiTEA Teamaker (or try its iced tea-brewing cousin!), and voila! There’s your super-modern teatime ritual.

(And if you’re running late or on the move, you can take your tea to go with the ActiviTEA or ModerniTEA travel bottles.)

3. The Essential Tea ‘Fit

Speaking of being strapped for time, maybe you’re the type who doesn’t have enough hours in the day for a proper tea break, or enough space to handle a party’s worth of accessories. If you can believe it, Adagio has you covered there: just hand off your troubles to the VelociTEA and you’re totally taken care of: just add your leaves and water, and go! My little ponies, efficiency is magic!

4. The Whimsical Tea ‘Fit

Now, maybe none of the above descriptions has resonated with you yet. Could it be that you’re a more light-hearted soul, one with a sense of humor and whimsy?

Then look no further than Adagio’s ceramic collection! I’m in love with their Ceramic Teapots and Ceramic Infusers.

Especially now that autumn brings us the very first heads-up on gift-giving season, I want to be sure that I’m fully stoked and prepared with adorable mugs that have cats and dogs rolling all over them, or spooky skulls for the incoming Halloween festivities.

5. The Unlabelable Tea ‘Fit

Lastly, over the course of your tea journey you might have found that you’re a little of all of the above: old-souled, forward-thinking, pragmatic, and always up for a spot of fun. (Fandom friends, anyone?)

Then let me draw your attention to one-of-a-kind wonders like Adagio’s Handmade Copper Kettle, perfectly-calibrated Sand Timer, Glass Mug and Infuser, and downright handy Iced Tea Tumbler that lets you completely show off the happy drink you’re sipping.

Feel free to mix and match throughout these tea ‘fit examples, and let me know in the comments how you identify your personal steep style!

Cheers!
