Tales & Tea Leaves Map Out a Tolkien Journey

Tales & Tea for Tolkien's Birthday
Tales & Tea for Tolkien's Birthday
A box without hinges, key, or lid,
yet golden treasure inside is hid.

Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" are legion, so it's no wonder that one of our most popular collections is Tales & Tea Leaves, spectacular teas in six reusable tins in a terrific 9"x9"x1.5" shadow box you can hang on your office wall or place on the kitchen counter.

"Where there's life there's hope, and need of vittles."

Naturally, we think the most important "vittles" are a full cupboard of teas. You already know that a great cup of tea can warm your heart and your body but we'd like to remind you that it's always fun to try something totally new. Framed Fandom sets are perfect tea experiences whether your job entails travel or office-bound duties, so collect them all. (Some of the teas are sold separately in either 3 oz. pouches or more generous 6 oz. tins. And, a sampler set of 10 tins from our various Framed Fandom selections is also available.)
If more of us valued food and cheer and song
Above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Tales & Teas for the Frodo or Arwen in Your Life: highly-portable, totally-reusable, yummy-filled tins of utterly delicious teas to dream or read or visit Middle Earth or hang out at home. This selection includes:

Elevenses is an English tradition of taking a tea break at 11 a.m., a few hours after breakfast and a little while before lunch. This tradition of food and cheer is evidenced in this unique combination of white and oolong teas with an accent of black tea enhanced with real blueberries and natural flavorings of crème, vanilla and blueberry to make this more like a blueberry scone in a cup. Steep at 200° for 3 minutes.

Second Breakfast is a best-seller and the perfect mid-morning cup. This fantastic blend is a song in and of itself and contains both green and black tea scented with cinnamon bark, ginger root, orange peels, clove, cardamom pods, apple pieces, natural apple, spice and crème flavors. Brew it at 212° for 4 minutes.

Still round the corner there may wait, a new road or a secret gate.
Dragon's Dream recalls the fantasies of treasure mixed with the depth and fire of the mystery so redolent in Tolkien's fable. You'll enjoy this mélange of several of our most popular teas: Assam Melody, green and black teas sparkled with ginger root, cinnamon, orange peels, cloves, cardamom pods and natural flavors of spice and cinnamon. Steep at slightly cooler temperature, 195°, for 3 minutes.

The Pint is just the brew to calm the nerves frayed by fighting evil, guarding Middle Earth and protecting lovely maidens. Strength is guaranteed from gunpowder green, and our wonderfully complex black Assam Melody and crisp edge of our Ceylon Sonata softened with natural crème flavor. Perfect afternoon tea. Steep at under-boiling (205°) for 3 minutes.

"I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the Ages of this world alone."

111th birthday is a celebratory tea for those you love and for the wonder of great stories like "The Lord of the Rings". We think all the characters, especially Arwen and Frodo, would adore this blend, created from oolong and black teas garnished with natural chocolate flavor, cocoa nibs, cinnamon bark, ginger root, natural almond, vanilla and cinnamon flavors. Steep with boiling water (212°) for 3 minutes.

Wizard's Grey is a masterful combination of flavors and teas as thoughtful and as wise a blend as the wizard himself. Sip silvery Earl Grey Moonlight with its smooth rich rumor of chocolate and blackberry for a very satisfying cup. A delicious dessert tea, it has pretty blue cornflowers, orange peels, blackberry leaves, natural bergamot, like any true Earl Grey, plus the surprise of cocoa nibs and natural chocolate and blackberry and vanilla flavors. Steep with boiling water (212°) for 3 minutes.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
These teas are the perfect conduit for connecting with loved ones and dear friends any time during the year. They're flavorful, deeply fragrant and blended with a great deal of thought to bring out the ephemeral mystery of tea and life.

ALL QUOTES are from J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Ring" trilogy.

"I thought up an ending for my book.
'And he lives happily ever after, till the end of his days.'"
