Traveling TeaCup, Tea Spot NYC

Greenwich Village is known for its intriguing treasure trove of shops. Around each corner is something new you just have to see -or eat. Chocolates, cupcakes (oh yeah!), earrings, shoes, and whatever else strikes your fancy-it is all there. But of course, our fascination is with our beloved leaf and the village does not disappoint.

Down on Macdougal Street near the corner of West 3rd is the TeaSpot. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic counter staff is also warm and friendly. Happy to chat with you about different teas and let you smell them before you choose (Oh, that Almond Cookie tea-my goodness!)

The atmosphere was lively on the chilly February night we were there with a vibrant tea sipping college crowd. It was cozy and felt like the kind of place where you could spend some time, drink some tea and feel connected.

TeaSpot boasts over 80 teas to choose from ranging from classic blends, decadent dessert-like teas as well as some enjoyable single estate specialty teas for the purist. Our server told us about a nice selection of mate blends that we didn't have time to try but sounded interesting. You can get all these brews to go, as we did or if you stay nice glass cups or by the pot. There were sweets and treats to complete the experience and satisfy your needs.

There was also a section of tea ware and brewing utensils if you happen to be in the hunt for something or if you fall in love with one of their blend and need the proper tools for loose tea.

TeaSpot is a fun place with great atmosphere and a lot of delectable tea choices with out all the frou-frou of a classic tearoom. You can be comfortable and drink tea!
