If you really, really love tea, I have one word for you. bodum®. Yes, bodum®. The name associated with those great coffee presses. Peter Bodum started his company in 1944, importing glass to Denmark, and has built the company on the idea that good design should not be expensive. They continue to win international design awards for their innovative products, and now they have branched out into selling teas and coffees in sleek, modern shops, along with everything one could possibly need to make, serve and store the perfect brew. And, would you believe, that even here in America, the Bodum's do not believe in advertising?

I discovered bodum® on Knox Street, in Dallas, Texas, just a couple of weeks ago, and I can't stay away from the place. Upon entering, there is a slightly industrial, clean and crisp ambiance, which quickly warms up when you start chatting with their friendly, knowledgeable staff. As much as I love tea, I usually hesitate to try new ones, because I don't appreciate spending anywhere from $5 to $15 for a pound of tea that I may or may not like once I get it home. Samples of all of their teas are available in glass beakers so that you can see and smell them, AND when you find one to your liking, they will happily make a hot cup for you on the spot - or iced, if you like.

Their menu is short and to the point - roll-up sandwiches served with green salad and chips; cookies, croissants and muffins and water, juice, tea or coffee. After all, they didn't win all those design awards by being overly fussy, but everything is good and reasonably priced.

They have on hand nearly 100 kinds of tea, including black, herbal, fruit, green and fruit greens. If you like drinking something without caffeine, try Rooibos, which is from Africa. Personally, I'm hooked on the Rooibos Caramel.

While you're checking out the teas, you will also notice that they have lots of things that tea lovers need - okay, coffee lovers too. Like tea and coffee presses, canisters, teapots, kitchen gadgets and lots more. There are flavored syrups, which can be used in either tea or coffee, gift sets and gift certificates. There is a gift registry available, and for those in need, there is free wireless Internet service too. They seem to have thought of everything.

The bad news is, there are currently only four locations - one here in Dallas, Texas and the other three in New York. However, one of the locations in New York is an outlet, where, a friend of mine has informed me, you can find lots of their products, including tea, at bargain prices. You can get more information and shop for everything, including bargains, at bodum.com.
